Thomas Goletz created the first Diddl drawings on 24 August 1990 at the age of 23. These were soon followed by 48 postcards, which marked the beginning of Diddl's European career. In addition to Diddl and his many friends, Thomas Goletz also created the basic designs for the distinctive world of Diddl.

Today, 23 years later, Diddl and his friends are some of the most successful cult figures in Europe.
